We’re excited to announce that Backupery for Slack and Backupery for Slack Export are now one unified application: Backupery.
First, we want to say a huge thank you. Your loyalty and feedback have directly inspired this next chapter.
Why We’re Merging Our Applications
For a long time, Backupery for Slack and Backupery for Slack Export were two separate applications. They were designed to solve two specific problems. But as our user base grew, we noticed that each of the applications is used for more than one use case and these use cases frequently overlap for both applications. As a result, it often wasn’t clear for users which app to choose to solve their problems. We also have specific plans to add a whole range of new features, and it’s becoming unclear which exact application these features belong to. Although having two separate apps did have its benefits, it also had some limitations and friction that started to outweigh the advantages.
We realized that to truly empower your work, we needed to unify both products into one.
What This Means for You
Desktop application users: due to technical limitations, Backupery for Slack and Backupery for Slack Export are unable to update themselves automatically to the unified Backupery application. Most likely, during the next few weeks you will see the following message in your application:

To update, just download the new Backupery app and install it over your current installation. Your settings and data should remain intact. Alternatively, you can update right now, without waiting for the message.
Cloud application users: your application is automatically updated to the latest Backupery web version, so you don’t need to do anything special.
If you currently have a paid license for Backupery for Slack or Backupery for Slack Export, your license remain active for the Backupery application as well.
